Production programs of 35.0% of water meter manufacturers are focused on the production of prepayment IC-card meters;  16.7% of companies are specialized in meters with telemetric signal transmission; 5.7% - in meters with radio frequency signal transmission. 1.5% of the companies produce Woltman meters.

About 38% of the companies are specialized in the production of one specific type of meters. Two types of cold water meters are declared in the production programs of 29.3% of the companies, 3 types – in those of 12.5% of the companies, 4 types – in those of 10.6% of the companies, 5 types – in those of 3.8% of the companies, 6 types – in those of 3.4% of the companies, 7 and above – in the programs of 2.3% of the companies.

Production of single-phase electric meters was declared by  95.35% of the meter manufacturers reviewed, while the production of three-phase meters was claimed by 28.55% of the companies. 32.5% of companies had electronic electricity meters in their production programs, 26.1% - prepayment meters with IC-card, 7.1% - multirate meters, 2.7% - telemetric data transmission meters, 4.7% - countervandalism design meters.  

Production of one single type of electric meters was declared by 47.0% of the manufacturers reviewed, 2 types – by 28.9%, 3 types – by 9.8%, 4 types – by 8.4%, 5 types – by 4.5%, 6 and above – by 1.4% of the companies.

Production of household gas meters was declared by 96.1% of the meter manufacturers reviewed. 19.4% of the companies produce diaphragm meters, 11.6%  - electronic meters, 52.7%  - prepayment IC-card meters, 10.1% of the companies produce commercial gas meters. 

Production of one single type of gas meters was declared by 28.7% of the manufacturers reviewed, 2 types – by 38.8%, 3 types – by 21.7%, 4 types – by 6.2%, 5 types – by 3.9%, 6 and above – by 0.8% of the companies.

The Chinese market for heat meters is under formation. Some Chinese companies have begun manufacturing heat meters for collective measurement of heat consumption.
