Global Market of Wind-Driven Power Plants from 2005-2009

Period: 2005-2009
Region: World market
Statements from the Report:

“From 2005-2009, the global market of wind-driven power plants (WDPP) was characterized by a real boom. The volume of the global WDPP market in value terms increased from US$16.49 billion in 2005 to US$70.0 billion in 2009. During the earlier period (2001-2005), the capacity gain of the WDPP market was unstable. However, since 2005 the wind power industry has been growing rapidly.

The results of 2009 demonstrate that the largest volume of sales of WDPP was observed in Asia (40.5% of the global market), North America (28.4%) and Europe (27.4%).

Based on the results of 2009, the highest total installed capacity of WDPP was achieved in Europe (47.8%), Asia (25.1%) and North America (24.2%)..."
